Grace Challenge - Giving Grace to Others

Women of Grace:

Do you know who provides - regardless of how little or how much you may think you have? Do you really know that you had nothing to do with it? It's all by the grace of God that we have anything good in this life, and today's enlightened moment came from Jonah Chapter 4.

We talked about being aware of our motivations, giving from the heart without expectation, and the grace God gives to us so that we may give grace to others. Keisha took the discussion to another level with a reading from Jonah Chapter 4 .  We laughed about how upset Jonah was with God because the plant that was giving him shade died. God said to Jonah that it was He (the Lord) who made the plant grow and Jonah had nothing to do with putting it there. Do we even know (or do we forget) who actually provides us with shelter, food, protection, money, the very air we breathe?! So is it right that we withhold any good thing from others, or stand in judgement because they don't do what we want? God demonstrated His grace and mercy to Jonah with the plant He gave for shelter from the sun, but Jonah in return did not want the Lord to give that same grace and mercy to the people of Nineveh.

Grace Challenge for this Week: Do you give the same grace to others that the Lord provides to you? Read Jonah Chapter 4 and ask the Lord to reveal where you stand, then ask Him to help you provide that same grace to others.

Have a blessed week!

Divine Wisdom In The Moment

Women of Grace:

I wanted to thank you all for praying for my daughters and me. Last week I asked for a special prayer for my youngest, Stacy. Yesterday, we had a trying moment followed by a very special time with God. I had the opportunity to share God's Word with my daughter because the Holy Spirit helped me to be obedient. She and I had a good conversation where we listened to each other (more importantly I listened to her), talked about God/scriptures, and prayed.

I realized that just because I'm mommy does not automatically negate that she is a little person who is developing, trying to make sense of her world, sifting through all the things she's learning from all the influences in her life so she can find the young lady God has predestined her to be. God showed me that grace/love were most needed and I'm in partnership with Him and her in that growth process; not the sole director or dictator. The conversation we had in class Sunday about the power of love and the teaching on grace in action from last week became real and I saw the manifestation of both. In the end, my daughter said "Wow mommy it's amazing how God's Word can come to life!" We topped that off with several minutes of silly dancing around and all was right with the world again :-).

Praise God because His still sweet Spirit will always give us the wisdom we need in the moments we need it the most! Just sharing my praise and letting you know that our righteous prayers are at work, are effective, and do availeth much! (James 5:16)

Thanks for your continued prayers and know I stand in the Gap for your requests too.
Have a very blessed week grace-filled CONQUERORS!

Introduction To Grace - Group Summary July 14

Margaret Echols, group facilitator, discusses the need for "grace to abound more and more".  Scripture References include Romans 1, Ephesians 3, 4, 7 and 8, Luke 9, and John 12. Margaret reminds us during our own study of grace that the Old and New Testaments cover different applications of grace.

"God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matt 5:4 NLT

It happened all at once, I didn't see it coming but instead was looking forward to the next time we would be together, and then...

My friend, I miss you. I know you are in the best hands, but my sorrow hangs over me like a warm shawl. Everywhere I look I'm reminded of something we did, something you said, something we planned, something we ate, something we sang, something we never did - Why did we wait?

Looking back, I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to spend the time we did, and regret we didn't do more - together. It was no coincidence we were born on the same day, liked the same songs, ate the same foods, bought the same clothes, drank the same drink, dreamed the same dreams - Will my birthday ever be the same?

It hurts. But I'm being selfish. I know you are in a much better place, happier than you've ever been, in the presence of the Lord, Smiling, Laughing, Dancing, Singing, Shouting, Praising, Worshiping...Who would give that up?

My friend, I miss you. I know you have gone on to your next calling but I will see you again, one day. I have more to do, and as I go on smiling, singing, praying, gazing, wishing, sleeping, weeping, dreaming, I can't help but wonder - Do you miss me?

Your Niece,
Stacey
